Frequently asked questions
- Which format should I choose?
- JPG for photographs (small, universal), PNG for screenshots, logos and anything needing transparency, WebP when you want the smallest files for the web with good quality.
- Does converting lose quality?
- PNG output is lossless. JPG and WebP re-encode at quality 90, which is visually indistinguishable for photos; converting back and forth repeatedly does accumulate loss, so keep your originals.
- What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?
- JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent areas are flattened onto a white background. Choose PNG or WebP to keep transparency.
- Are my images uploaded anywhere?
- No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser; your images never leave your device.
