Screenshot Beautifier
Plain screenshots, dressed for sharing.
How to beautify a screenshot
- Add a screenshot; it is framed immediately with the current backdrop and padding.
- Pick one of the four gradient backdrops; the dark slate works well for light UI shots, the light ones for dark UIs.
- Adjust the padding slider for more or less breathing room; the corner rounding and shadow scale automatically.
- Download the PNG; it is ready for a tweet, a changelog, a presentation or documentation.
Frequently asked questions
- Why frame screenshots at all?
- A raw screenshot dropped into a post blends into the page and looks unfinished. A backdrop with padding and shadow separates it from its surroundings and reads as intentional.
- Does the screenshot itself get modified?
- No; it is placed unscaled onto the backdrop with rounded corners clipped. Very large screenshots are downscaled to at most 3200 pixels on the long edge to keep the output manageable.
- Why is the output PNG and not JPG?
- Screenshots are full of sharp text and hairlines, which JPG compression visibly smears. PNG keeps them pixel-crisp.
- Is my screenshot uploaded anywhere?
- No. Composition runs entirely in your browser; the image never leaves your device.
